Ohio Whitetail

We’re warning you, this hunt gets bloody.

An emotional hunter takes down a beautiful Ohio whitetail with an accurate shot that drains blood out of the animal rapidly and brings him down quickly within sight of the stand.

If you’re going to take one thing from this video, let it be the lesson that an accurately placed shot is the best way to down an animal, for the sake of both the animal and the hunter.

Check out the precision of this shot. We’ll warn you that this hunt is a bit graphic.

That shot killed the animal quickly and humanely. The fact the arrow as nearly out of the buck on the far side likely meant an easy extraction too. That should mean maximum meat yield from this harvest.

Did you see the blood literally pour out of the animal’s wound? This guy was using some quality broadheads. This buck probably never knew what hit him. There’s no doubt in our minds, this was a double lung hit that was perfectly placed. When it was facing the camera, blood clearly dumped out its side and covered a section of leaves in red. This happened right before it wandered a few feet and collapsed. If you can get an arrow or a bullet into this location every time, the recovery is almost always going to be an easy one. Frankly, we were surprised this buck was on his feet as long as he was.

As you saw, this hunter got emotional at the end of the video. We can’t blame him. It takes a lot of hard work to bag a big buck and when it all comes to fruition like this, and you make an extremely clean and ethical kill, it makes it all worth it.
