Snow Geese

Snow goose conservation season can be wild. Have you ever seen 287 geese fall from the sky? No? Then you haven’t seen this incredible snow goose hunting video.

The conservation season for snow geese has opened up a really big opportunity. Very few animal species have a season where almost none of the typical rules apply, especially not for a type of waterfowl. But, left unchecked, we’d get runaway snow goose population sizes and tons of damaged fields. So conservation seasons exist.

During this time of year, hunters’ gloves come off (metaphorically-it’s still cold outside). Hunters can remove plugs from shotguns, put extension tubes on guns to hold 10+ shells, and shoot as many geese as possible within legal shooting light.

It is a recipe for greatness and a lot of fun, and you’ll hear the slogan “Operation Save The Tundra” a lot in the field. The hunters in the video below take on the challenge in full force. Multiple shooters, shells, and geese are on the ground by the end of this snow goose video.

With more crippled birds than you could count while they were all moving, the men had to move in to finish them off. The hunters took down 287 before the fun ended. Now it’s time to go to work and start cleaning the birds. Yeah, we don’t envy that part. We’ll just be over here watching this wild snow geese video over and over.

Operation save the tundra was a success for these guys, and now they have a lot of snow geese meat to celebrate that with…if that is possible.
