Today’s Photo Of The Day is “The Usual Suspects” by Satesh Ramjattan. Location: Matheson Hammock Park, Coral Gables, Florida.
“Silhouetted palms against a candy-colored sky at Matheson Hammock Park in Miami right before sunrise,” describes Ramjattan. “This is one of those locations where you can get a great image during sunset and sunrise, however, the park is quite popular for locals to take portraits during the late afternoon into sunset, so I went for sunrise to avoid the crowds. Most people love to capture this scene with a wide-angle lens and include the shoreline, but I wanted to offer a different perspective. I loaded my Canon 5DS R into my water housing so I could get my lens right to the surface of the water without ruining my gear. Using the technique of focus blending, I was able to capture the foreground reflections and the palms in focus. The palms are icons of this area and to Florida in general, so I was glad to add a new spin to the usual subjects or, as I call them, the usual suspects.”
