“One tree, one sunrise, one lucky photographer,” says Speijer. “I must admit, getting out of bed at 5 a.m. for a sunrise shoot, especially several mornings in a row, can lose its appeal. But being rewarded by a beautiful sunrise and no other photographers around makes me want to do it for at least another week. The solitude, being outdoors, hearing nothing but the wind and the clicks of my shutter—just amazing.”
