Walmart Challenge

You don’t need a lot of expensive equipment to be successful hunting, as proven by the WalMart Challenge.

Everyone always seems to be all about the latest and greatest things in hunting. People are always looking to buy the best bows or the best firearms. Then there are the latest and greatest camo patterns, the best calls and the best cover scents.

But do you really need to spend a lot of money in order to have success hunting? Can’t you just get your gear at WalMart?

Well, it turns out the answer to those questions is a definite yes. And to prove it, check out this video from The Hunting Public. This guy spends less than $500 to get a brand-new bow setup and then uses it to successfully harvest a deer.

For just $489, this guy was able to get a brand-new bow, arrows, broadheads and a release and then go out later that day hunting with it. Granted success didn’t come until a few months later, but he still made it happen on a pretty limited budget.

He took things a step further by putting together a very simple hunting spot. No fancy camo, no elaborate treestand. Just a bucket and a good spot to ambush the deer. It wasn’t a large deer by any means, but it is still meat on the table and at the end of the day, isn’t that all that matters?

Our hat is off to this guy for pulling off this challenge so effectively and showing you don’t have to spend a ton of money to be a successful hunter.
