Nikon today announced the development of the D6 flagship DSLR, successor to its top-of-the-range professional camera, the D5, released in 2016. Details about the camera are very limited, with Nikon merely stating that the camera is in development. Nikon notes in the official press release (below) that 2019 is the 20th anniversary of the introduction of the D1, so it’s likely that more details on the D6 will be made public by year’s end.
