We’re excited to be able to bring you the popular reCOMPOSE podcast, hosted by Juan Pons and Andy Williams, here in the Outdoor Photographer blog. In this biweekly podcast, they discuss all topics related to photography — a combination of photo technique, gear, travel and more. It’s a bit like having two really good friends in your living room, talking all things photography! Sometimes it’s a deep-dive into technique or composition, sometimes an interview with a great photographer, sometimes it’s gear-talk. And they answer your questions, too! You can send questions to: contact@recompose.photo.

Since this is our first post sharing reCOMPOSE, we’re including the three most recent episodes.

reCOMPOSE 029: Growing As A Photographer

In this episode of the reCOMPOSE podcast, Juan and Andy discuss how we can grow as photographers. Specifically, we discuss what things we need integrate into our thought processes as we go out to make images.

reCOMPOSE 028: Get the Gear out of the Way

You may have heard us frequently talk about being Light, Nimble and Quick when shooting. On this episode of the reCOMPOSE podcast we take it even further by challenging each other distill our gear to our 4 most important pieces with which we could shoot for an entire year. This is a great exercise that we encourage you to undertake. Surprisingly it was not as difficult as we had expected it to be.

reCOMPOSE 027: Interview with Photographer Wayne Suggs

In this episode of the reCOMPOSE podcast, Juan and Andy interview Photographer Wayne Suggs. A Las Cruces, New Mexico native, Wayne captures the beauty of the Southwest like no one has before.

Wayne loves to share his images not only for others to enjoy, but to help increase awareness of the necessity to preserve our precious surroundings. Wayne has won numerous awards for his photography, including the 14th Annual New Mexico Magazine Photographer of the Year, the Oliver Award for his work on night photography with petroglyphs, and numerous others. His work can be seen in national, state, and local publications such as New Mexico Magazine, The Reflector Astronomy Magazine, New Mexico Travelers Guide, and the Wilderness Society Publications to name a few. His work can also be seen in galleries around the Southwest.
