Building upon its experience in computer software, OpenCPN is now offering its quarter million OpenCPN users charts from for navigation not just on their Microsoft, Linux and Mac computers but also on Android devices.

OpenCPN is a collaborative software, engineered by a dedicated group of experienced and highly skilled developers who have created a chart plotter and navigation software, for use underway or as a planning tool – now available on Android mobile phones or tablets  The OpenCPN Android App offers outstanding features such as the best-in-class  integrated AIS, support for BSB raster chart (RNC), S57 vector chart (ENC), single-chart and quilted display modes, North-up, Course-up and Chart-up display modes, route and waypoint navigation, both device-integrated and Bluetooth remote GPS support, Autopilot output, GRIB weather, anchor watch/alarm, GPX waypoints, Tides and Current predictions, NMEA message handling and even an integrated Chart Downloader.


Thanks to the joint efforts with the Fugawi team, Android App users can access an extensive and growing array of quality raster charts from the likes of Canadian Hydrographic Service, nv charts, Delius Klasing, Blue Latitude and Solteknik.

The OpenCPN Android App can be purchased at an introductory price of $9.95 from Google Play. The free Fugawi Plug-in for the OpenCPN Android App can be downloaded here. Each downloaded chart comes with two licenses that can be used on two different devices. Some charts such as those for Brazil are free. Prices for others charts are established by the providers and can vary from USD $19.99 to $199.
