It was only a matter of time, right?

When executives finalized the merger between Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s last year, members of the outdoors community were skeptical. The two massive retailers were each other’s biggest competitors, so no one was sure of the implications that would follow.

Would the stores eventually take one name? Would they start carrying the same store brands? And, of course, would they open a combination store? Well, the last hypothetical is now a reality.

According to a press release, major renovations are underway at the 100,000-square-foot Cabela’s in Rogers, Arkansas.

“Rogers, Arkansas and the surrounding area is one of the best regions in the country for fishing, hunting and outdoor recreation. We’re very excited to unite these iconic American brands to better serve the area’s many outdoor enthusiasts,” Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris said. “Our vision is to create the ‘best-of-the-best’ shopping experience that includes the superior products, outstanding customer service and exceptional value our customers have come to expect. At our newly expanded Rogers location, customers will discover the best of Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s and Tracker Boats all under one roof.”

There will be new signage on the outside of the building that showcases Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s and Tracker.

The store will remain open while it undergoes renovations.
