Help wardens find the poachers who did this.

The Kansas game wardens have had a particularly busy fall, dealing with deer rescues and poaching incidents.

Now, they’re looking to the public for help again in solving the poaching of a trophy buck in Lane County. In a press release on their Facebook page, the wardens said someone shot the buck with a rifle Nov. 3, outside of open rifle seasons.

Worst of all, the person or persons responsible left the buck’s carcass in a field to rot.

Wardens say this poaching happened in Lane County on Bison Road. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Operation Game Thief hotline at 1-877-426-3843 or call the Lane County Game Warden directly at 785-230-5593.

The wardens have already solved a few poaching cases this year, including one where the culprits face jail and $20,000 in fines.

But wildlife officers often need all the help they can get in solving these types of cases. Help get the word out on this case so they can hopefully catch a break in cracking it!
