This massive bruin may be new state record in Georgia.

Georgia’s bear hunters are already seeing success. But one bruin in particular is standing out.

It’s one that Wildlife Resources Division officials have already confirmed is the heaviest ever taken in Georgia at a whopping 673 pounds!

This is one big bear. It fills up the back of this pickup truck with ease!

Largest bear (678 Pounds) ever recorded in state of Georgia was killed last night in one of my friend's backyard in Mountain City! Her house is between mine and Mama and Daddy's.

There aren’t a whole lot of details on the hunt for this massive bear as of yet, but 11 Alive News reports the bruin was shot by Tim Watson near Mountain City in Rabun County.

Obviously it’s too early for a skull measurement to be in, but considering it is the heaviest bear ever shot in the Peach State, it’s likely to be at or at the very least, near the top of the record book. Bears don’t usually get that big.

Keep it here at Wide Open Spaces where we will bring you more information on this bruin if and when it is officially measured for the record books.
